Shell Recharge – DHA Phase 5

The charger is 50kw max, with two outlets. You'll only get max 25w output if 2 cars are charging at the same time. Good chilling space to wait with multiple outlets in the select shop to pass your time.

The charger here they commit is 60kwh, but whenever you take your car on charge it doesn’t charge more than 24kwh and whenever you ask why is this happening they are like its total 60kwh so when 2 cars are charging it drops to 30kwh.

Two chargers at site and the queue was 2 hours long. Clearly a favourite place for some. Signal for increasing charging points perhaps?

Pretty decent overall. As always, Shell has a nice coffee shop nearby inside Shell Select, so you can grab a coffee or something to eat while you wait. One thing to keep in mind is that this location can get quite crowded, and finding a parking/charging spot can be difficult, so I’d recommend planning your visit accordingly. My main disappointment was the charging speed. I wasn’t getting the advertised 180 kW; when both charging points are being used, the available power seems to be split between the two cars, which can make the charging session considerably longer. The person in charge mentioned that there is a backup/power requirement they’re currently working on, so hopefully this improves once that is sorted. Overall, it’s a decent and convenient setup, but the charging infrastructure could definitely be better. Hopefully in the near future Shell can upgrade this location to a proper 180 kW+ charger with enough power available even when multiple cars are plugged in.
