EV Charging Stations in Karachi: Price List (2026)

Karachi has 20 public EV charging points on the ChargePK live map. Fifteen publish a fixed rate per kWh and five more post a variable band. Here is every one, with its rate, what a real charge actually costs, and how it compares with plugging in at home.

The Karachi price list

These are live ChargePK figures as of August 2026, sorted cheapest first. All rates are per kWh, you pay for the energy delivered, not the time plugged in.

Five more stations charge variable rates, roughly PKR 40 to 160 per kWh depending on the gun and time of day: Dolmen Mall Clifton (22 kW), The Ocean Mall (30 kW), Metro Safari Store (30 kW), North Karachi Industrial 12-D (240 kW) and North Nazimabad KDA (120 kW). Their current rates show on each station's listing in the Karachi directory.

The pattern is tight. Ten of the DC fast chargers sit between PKR 101 and PKR 120, the same band most public DC chargers across Pakistan occupy, where prices cluster at PKR 100 to 130 per kWh.

How Karachi prices compare to home charging

Home charging on a domestic tariff costs roughly PKR 40 to 65 per kWh, depending on your slab. Set that against PKR 101 to 120 at Karachi's DC stations and the maths is blunt: public fast charging costs roughly two to three times the home rate per unit.

That is not a reason to avoid public chargers. It is a reason to use them the way they are meant to be used, for top-ups mid-journey and days when you cannot reach a socket, while the bulk of your charging happens overnight at home. What a real charge costs: BYD Atto 3

Take the BYD Atto 3, 49.92 kWh of usable battery, roughly 410 km of range. A typical DC session takes you from 10% to 80%, which is about 35 kWh.

The home figure includes roughly 10% charging losses, you draw a little more from the wall than lands in the battery. Even so, a full 410 km costs less at home than 287 km does at a fast charger. The gap is the price of speed, and on a Karachi-to-Hyderabad run it is a price worth paying.

DC vs AC in Karachi

Karachi's rates run against expectations. The cheapest published rate is a 7 kW AC home charger, KDA Scheme at PKR 100, and the most expensive is also AC, the BMW destination point at Hascol at PKR 150. The AC units span the widest range, PKR 100 to 150, because they are a mix of home chargers and destination points.

The DC fast chargers cluster far more tightly: ten of them sit between PKR 101 and PKR 120. Since a 7 kW AC unit adds range slowly, at these prices the DC chargers are not just far quicker, they are also barely dearer per unit than most of the AC options.

How to pay and what to expect

Billing at published-rate sites is per kWh, measured on energy delivered, you pay for units, not minutes.

• Payment varies by operator. Some take cash, some card, some run their own app. Check the station's listing in ChargePK before you drive out.
• Most fixed-rate fast chargers sit at fuel stations and showrooms. Shell, Bilal, PSO, Hascol, GO Petroleum, Caltex, ABB and Inverex host most of the 15 published-rate sites between them.
• The variable-rate sites are worth a second look before plugging in. Dolmen Clifton, Ocean Mall and Metro Safari post PKR 40 to 160 depending on the gun and time, the live rate shows on each station's listing.
• Confirm the station is live before a long drive. The map shows current status, connector types and prices, worth thirty seconds before committing to DHA at rush hour.
