Luxeed Is Coming to Pakistan: Nishat Signs With Chery and Huawei

Nishat and Luxeed executives sign the MOU at the ceremony in Wuhu, China

Nishat Group has signed a strategic MOU with Luxeed, the premium new energy vehicle brand built by Chery and Huawei, to bring the marque to Pakistan. The agreement was signed in Wuhu, China on 22 October 2026, a day after Luxeed held its global brand launch in the same city. Models, prices and the Pakistan timeline come later. Here is what the deal actually says, and what it would mean.

What was signed

An MOU, not a dealership opening. The two sides agreed to cooperate on introducing Luxeed in Pakistan, with a stated focus on technology integration and local synergy. Nothing else is fixed: no model list, no prices, no launch date, and no word yet on whether cars would be imported or assembled locally. Nishat says all of that will be announced at a later stage. An MOU is a declared intention, and intentions sometimes stall, but this one comes from the group with the strongest recent record of actually following through.

What Luxeed is

Luxeed is what happens when China's biggest vehicle exporter and its biggest technology company build a car together. Chery does the engineering and manufacturing. Huawei supplies the HarmonyOS smart cockpit, its Qiankun ADS driver assistance and the digital drive stack, under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance that also produces Aito and Stelato. Globally the lineup centres on the S7 sedan and the R7 SUV, premium electric cars pitched squarely at Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y in China. Which of them would come here is unannounced.

Why Nishat is the importer to watch

Pakistan has seen plenty of NEV announcements that went nowhere. Nishat's record is different. Through NexGen Auto it launched Omoda and Jaecoo in August 2025 with a USD 100 million investment and local assembly in Faisalabad, and passed 15,000 customer deliveries in the first year. The Jaecoo J7 PHEV and Omoda E5 are on our catalogue today. At PAPS 2026 it added iCaur, whose V23 and V27 are already priced for Pakistan. Luxeed would be the third Chery family brand Nishat has brought in, and the first positioned as outright premium.

Where Luxeed would land

Pakistan already sells one Huawei adjacent brand: Avatr, the Changan, Huawei and CATL joint project, with five variants on sale here. Luxeed would push the same smart cockpit pitch further, into territory currently held by the Avatr 11 and the top BYD and Zeekr models. The tax climate helps: under the draft Auto Policy 2026-31, battery electric cars keep a 1 percent sales tax, the lowest of any powertrain. A premium EV landing into that window is a very different proposition than it would have been two years ago.

What happens next

Nishat announces models, specifications, pricing and the timeline. The day that happens, every Luxeed model goes into our catalogue with full specs, charging compatibility and the real on road maths. Until then, the premium NEVs you can actually buy today are all in the compare tool.
