EV Charging Stations in Islamabad: The DC Price List (2026)

Faisal Avenue running toward Faisal Mosque and the Margalla Hills in Islamabad

Islamabad has thirteen DC fast charging sites live on the ChargePK map today, all CCS2, and the published rates span just thirty rupees: Rs 100 to 130 per kWh. This list covers DC fast charging only, the kind that adds meaningful range during a coffee stop, pulled from our live station data rather than a directory that went stale last year. Slow AC and home style points are on the full Islamabad charging page, which updates automatically.

Rates are the operators' published per kWh prices on our live map as of 27 October 2026; two sites list a price but have not published their DC power rating. Every station here uses CCS2. Prices change, so tap any station on the map for the live figure, hours and user reviews before you drive.

How to read this list

The rupee gap looks small and mostly is: charging an entire 50 kWh battery at Rs 130 instead of Rs 100 costs Rs 1,500 extra, but nobody charges from zero to full on DC. What matters more is power. A 150 kW station finishes a 10 to 80 percent session in roughly half the time of a 60 kW one on a car that can take the rate, so the real currency in this list is minutes, not rupees. Check your car's DC ceiling on its catalogue page; a car limited to 88 kW gains nothing from a 150 kW cable, and our charging time calculator does the exact maths.

The fast lane: two 150 kW stations

The capital's quickest charging is at the Islamabad Club station on Murree Road, which pairs 150 kW with the city's cheapest rate at Rs 100 per kWh, an unusual combination anywhere in Pakistan, and PSO Neon in G-13/1 at Rs 120. Lahore still holds the national crown with its 180 kW sites, covered in our Lahore price list, but Rs 100 at 150 kW is the best value fast charge in the country right now.

Where the chargers cluster

Three patterns stand out. The industrial sectors, I-8 through I-10, hold five sites between them, handy for fleets and anyone crossing the city on IJP Road. The centre is covered by Blue Area's 120 kW unit on Jinnah Avenue and the two Centaurus Mall units, where the car charges while you eat. And the approaches are no longer bare: G-13 and F-11 cover the Peshawar side, Mumtaz City sits by the airport corridor, and ZETA 1 covers the GT Road toward Rawat. Heading out of the city instead? The M-2's service areas have their own DC coverage, including Kallar Kahar, and the journey planner strings them into a route for your specific car.

What a full charge costs, against home

A BYD Atto 3 doing the classic 10 to 80 percent DC session draws about 35 kWh: Rs 3,500 at the Islamabad Club, about Rs 4,375 at the common Rs 125 rate. The same energy from a home socket on a Rs 50 per kWh tariff is roughly Rs 1,750, which is the whole economics of EV ownership in one line: fast charge for time, home charge for money, and even the expensive option undercuts petrol. Run your own numbers in the EV vs petrol calculator, and if you are new to all of this, start with how public charging works in Pakistan.

Frequently asked questions

How many DC fast charging stations does Islamabad have?

Thirteen CCS2 DC fast charging sites are live on the ChargePK map in Islamabad right now, eleven with published per kWh rates. They run from a single 30 kW unit on the GT Road up to two 150 kW stations, with most of the network at 60 to 120 kW.

What is the cheapest EV charging in Islamabad?

Rs 100 per kWh at the Islamabad Club station on Murree Road, and it happens to also be one of the city's two fastest sites at 150 kW. The most expensive published DC rate is Rs 130 at ZETA 1 Mall on the GT Road, so the whole spread is only 30 rupees.

What does EV charging cost per kWh in Islamabad?

Published DC fast charging rates run Rs 100 to 130 per kWh, with Rs 110 to 125 the common band. Home charging on a typical domestic tariff costs roughly half that, which is why most owners fast charge for convenience and top up overnight at home for economy.

What is the fastest EV charger in Islamabad?

Two stations peak at 150 kW: the Islamabad Club station on Murree Road (Rs 100 per kWh) and PSO Neon Filling Station in G-13/1 (Rs 120). On a car that can take the rate, either adds roughly 50 to 60 km of range per five minutes.

What does a full charge cost in Islamabad?

Take a BYD Atto 3 with its 49.92 kWh battery: a typical 10 to 80 percent fast charging session draws about 35 kWh, which costs Rs 3,500 at the cheapest site and about Rs 4,375 at the common Rs 125 rate. The same energy at home on a Rs 50 per kWh tariff is about Rs 1,750.

Which connector do Islamabad's fast chargers use?

Every DC fast site in the city uses CCS2, which fits almost every electric car on sale in Pakistan. Cars with a Type 2 inlet only, such as some low speed NEVs, cannot DC fast charge and should plan around AC points instead.

Is there EV charging at Centaurus Mall?

Yes, two separate units: a 60 kW CCS2 charger in the basement parking at Rs 115 per kWh, and a Go Green unit in basement B2 listed at Rs 110. Mall sites are popular because the car charges while you are inside, so expect queues on weekends.

Are there 24 hour EV chargers in Islamabad?

Most Islamabad sites do not publish operating hours, and petrol station sites generally follow the station's own hours. Before a late night run, open the station on the ChargePK map and call the listed contact; the map shows live details and user reports.

Is EV charging cheaper in Islamabad than Lahore or Karachi?

The bands overlap heavily: all three cities cluster around Rs 110 to 130 per kWh for DC fast charging. Lahore holds the country's fastest public sites at 180 kW, while Islamabad's edge is density for its size and the cheapest 150 kW charging in Pakistan at Rs 100.

Where can I charge on the motorway from Islamabad?

The M-2 toward Lahore is Pakistan's best covered intercity route, with DC fast charging at the service areas including Kallar Kahar. The ChargePK journey planner builds the charging stops into the route for your specific car, battery and starting charge.

Do I need an app to use these chargers?

It varies by operator: some sites run through an attendant, others use the operator's own app or card. The ChargePK map lists each station's operator, rate, connectors and contact so you know before you drive, and user reviews flag anything unusual.

Will Islamabad get more fast chargers soon?

Almost certainly. The government told the National Assembly it plans around 3,000 public charging facilities nationwide by 2030, with fast chargers at 50 km intervals on motorways, and the capital is an obvious early beneficiary. New sites appear on the ChargePK map as they go live.
