Should you buy a fully electric car in Pakistan?
The running cost gap is large and it is the whole argument
Charged at home on a domestic tariff, an electric car costs a small fraction per kilometre of what the same journey costs on petrol. That gap is what pays back the higher purchase price, and it widens every time fuel goes up. It only exists if you can charge at home.
No home charging changes the maths completely
Public DC charging is convenient and considerably more expensive than a domestic unit. If every charge has to be a paid public one, the running-cost advantage narrows sharply and a hybrid may be the better financial answer. Settle where you will charge before you settle which car.
Load-shedding is a planning problem, not a blocker
An overnight charge on a 7 kW wall-box needs several uninterrupted hours, which most areas have. Where supply is unreliable, people schedule charging around the known windows or pair the charger with solar. It is worth asking your installer to check what your connection can actually sustain.
