Official prices against the dealer quote

In late October a Jaecoo dealership quoted a ChargePK community member prospective prices, which we published as the expected Jaecoo J5 BEV prices. Against that quote, the Comfort came in Rs 6 Lakh lower at Rs 59.99 Lakh and the Premium came in Rs 4.5 Lakh lower at Rs 66.99 Lakh.

Where it sits among electric SUVs

At Rs 59.99 Lakh the Comfort is now the cheapest electric SUV on sale in Pakistan, Rs 10 Lakh under the Dongfeng Vigo at 69.99 and Rs 12.91 Lakh under the BYD Atto 2 at 72.9. Only electric hatchbacks and microcars cost less. It joins the electric cars under Rs 80 Lakh list.

At the top, the Premium at Rs 66.99 Lakh lands among imports: the Dongfeng Vigo at 69.99, the BYD Atto 2 at 72.9 and the Seres 3 at 83.9. Local assembly is what lets the J5 BEV start so far below them. Every one of these cars is side by side in the compare tool and the electric SUV list.

How the J5 BEV stacks up against other electric cars in Pakistan

Battery for the money is where it stands out. The Comfort costs Rs 1.21 Lakh per kWh of battery, the lowest of the 10 cars in the table. The 49.5 kWh Comfort and Premium carry more battery than the Dongfeng Box (32 kWh), Chery Q (42.7 kWh), GUGO Box (31 kWh), MG Binguo (31.9 kWh) and GAC Aion UT Elite (44.12 kWh). At Rs 66.99 Lakh the Premium carries 49.5 kWh, and nothing within Rs 3 Lakh of its price carries more. Charging is the other strength: at 130 kW, the 49.5 kWh car charges faster than every other car in the table.

Claimed ranges mix NEDC, WLTP and CLTC figures, so they are not like for like; battery size is the fairer comparison, and our range converter puts any claim on one scale.

Why the electric J5 costs less than the hybrid

The Comfort costs Rs 18 Lakh less than the J5 hybrid Comfort at Rs 77.99 Lakh, though both share the same 4.38 metre body and come off the same Faisalabad line. At the top, the Premium costs Rs 21 Lakh less than the hybrid Premium at Rs 87.99 Lakh. Tax does most of the work here: since July 2026 hybrids pay 25 percent sales tax, while battery EVs pay 1 percent. The J5 hybrid, alongside the rest of the Jaecoo range, still suits a buyer who cannot charge at home; anyone who can will spend far less per kilometre on electricity than on petrol, as our charging cost guide works out; the EV vs petrol calculator runs it for your own mileage.

Range, honestly

The 49.5 kWh Comfort and Premium claim 405 km on the NEDC cycle: about 345 km WLTP and 305 km in mixed real driving. That does not cover Lahore to Islamabad, about 375 km on the M-2, on one charge in real driving, so plan one short fast charging stop. Our range converter shows the working for any claim.

Charging the J5 BEV

The 49.5 kWh car takes up to 130 kW on DC and 11 kW on AC, per Jaecoo's specification leaflet. NexGen has not published charge times. Jaecoo includes an 11 kW home charger with the car (terms apply). At home, an 11 kW wall box fills it from empty in about 4.5 hours, and a common 7 kW box in about 7: an overnight job either way.

NexGen has not confirmed the charging port. Jaecoo’s other EVs in Pakistan use CCS2, so expect the same, but confirm it before buying a wall box. The live charger map shows every public charger it can use, and our home charging guide covers the wall box. For a top up on the road, the DC fast charger price list has every public rate, and the charging time calculator shows how long a stop takes.
